Frequently Asked Questions

How often should you see your dentist?

Most people need a regular dental check-up every three to six months. A regular dental check-up is part of ensuring your overall good health. Regular continuing care appointments help keep your teeth, bone level and gums healthy, and allow us to catch any problems early.

What information is required for my first appointment?

For your first appointment, we'll need some basic information such as your full name, age, the name of any medications you take, and the last time you visited a dentist. If you're covered by a dental insurance plan, please bring your group policy number, the insurance company name, and your certificate number.

For your convenience, you can download our Patient Registration Form (see link at bottom of page). Feel free to fill it in and bring it with you at your first appointment.

Do you see children? How old should they be for their first visit?

We do see children! We recommend children make their first trip to the dentist within six months of getting their first tooth, or by one year of age. If your child is apprehensive, we've had great success with our complimentary Play Visit initiative where young children sit in the dental chair and we simply count their teeth as they get comfortable with a dental environment. A more typical first visit usually lasts about 30 minutes. It might include a full exam of the teeth, jaws, bite, gums, and oral tissues to check growth and development. If needed, your child may also have a gentle cleaning.

What is your payment policy?

Payment is due at the time of treatment. We accept Interac (debit), Visa, MasterCard, American Express credit cards and cash.

If I am covered by a dental insurance plan, how will I get reimbursed?

Our patients are responsible for payment at the time of treatment. If you're covered by a dental insurance plan, bring your insurance information and we'll submit your claim on your behalf. With our Electronic Dental Insurance (EDI) claim submission technology, most patients receive reimbursement from their plan provider within a week.

What do I do if I have a dental emergency?

If you have a dental emergency, call our office immediately at 416 604 8008.  Some guidelines:
